Amiqus are currently working with an award winning, UK based, games development studio to help them attract an experienced Combat Designer to their team. The studio is about to embark on their latest PC / Console title, an ambitious indie project. This could be a great opportunity for someone looking to take that next step into a senior role.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement combat systems, including player abilities, enemy behaviors, and combat mechanics.
- Collaborate with the design team to create and refine combat encounters.
- Balance combat mechanics to ensure a challenging and enjoyable player experience.
- Work with programmers to integrate combat systems into the game using the Unity engine.
- Create and maintain documentation for combat systems and mechanics.
- Playtest and iterate on combat systems to address feedback and improve gameplay.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate best practices into your work.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Combat Designer in the video game industry.
- Strong understanding of combat mechanics, player abilities, and enemy behaviors.
- Proficiency with the Unity engine.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Passion for video games and a deep understanding of various genres and gameplay styles.
