Head of Server Engineering

This role with my client sounds like an exciting opportunity for someone with extensive experience in server-side development and a passion for games! As the Head of Server Engineering, you would be leading a team of 10 backend & full stack engineers, setting technical direction, and ensuring the delivery of high-performance, scalable server solutions for mobile game projects.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing server-side architecture, development, and maintenance.
• Guiding and mentoring a team of backend engineers.
• Collaborating with Client Leads and other technical leads.
• Continuously evaluating and adopting new technologies.
• Optimizing server performance to handle an expanding player base.
• Managing continuous integration and deployment (CICD) pipelines.
• Contributing to long-term strategic planning for the server department.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Extensive experience in server-side development.
• Proven track record as a server lead on multiple mobile game projects.
• Proficiency in server technologies, cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), and backend frameworks.
• Strong understanding of scalability, performance optimization, and database management.
• Expertise in live operations and continuous deployment pipelines.
• A deep enthusiasm for gaming and innovation.
