We have partnered with an exciting video games studio based in Bucharest, who require a Backend Engineer to work on a range of new titles on PC and Console platforms. The studio has built a fantastic reputation and are known for their high-quality output, close relationship building and have worked on a series of greatly received titles, some of which have earned high praise and acclaim.
The studio founders have a long-standing history in creating some of the best Indie games on the market on PC/Console platforms. This role will have you working closely with the management team and will get involved with various aspects of development.
The team are looking for someone who is passionate about building cutting edge, scalable backend systems that power immersive gaming experiences. As the Backend Developer, you'll play a key role in designing and maintaining the systems that support their players worldwide. You will implement high-performance game services, that provide a seamless player experience and ensure top security and scalability.

The studio has numerous sites in the UK, France and Romania, so can hire candidates permanently from these locations. For Fully remote candidates outside of these three locations, the studio will hire using a B2B, fully remote contract.
For Remote candidates, the studio prefers someone with 1–2 hours’ time difference from Romania.
Requirements
- At least 3 years’ experience in Backend Development
- You must have games industry experience
- Released titles as a Backend Engineer (Console/PC ideally)
- A decent level of communication in English
- Experience with Azure and MongoDB
- Playfab, C# and Javascript experience is a bonus
