Senior Programmer (Core-Tech / Systems), to join this award winning studio's Shared Technology Group, developing class leading VR tech / systems to be used across their four development studios. C++ UE4/UE5.
They are looking for an experienced programmer for their Core Development team. Working with developers from their four studios, this role will ensure their catalogue of VR titles can entertain a broad and diverse audience. You will work with product teams to implement and review accessibility and comfort. You will also partner with their community support function to diagnose and resolve emergent issues in launched titles.
An adaptable, generalist engineer with a user-centric mindset would be a great fit for this role.
Key Responsibilities:

- Support live titles by diagnosing and patching issues caused by e.g. platform updates, or to retroactively add support for new peripherals and hardware.
Essential capabilities:
- 3+ years of professional programming experience, having contributed runtime systems, engine extensions or gameplay features to at least one shipped title on a console, PC, or mobile platform.
- A solid debugging and profiling skillset. Can diagnose software issues efficiently and verify resolutions with testing and guards.
- A thorough knowledge of modern C++, including high-performance programming.
- Able to gather user requirements and design software to fulfil them. Can prioritize features and manage scope.
- Good English communication skills. Able to work effectively with peers and stakeholders from all disciplines.
Desired experience:
- Extensive use and customization of Unreal Engine 4/5 in a professional context.
- Experience implementing accessibility features for vision, hearing, limb or motor differences, or for neurodiverse audiences.
- Experience developing for virtual/mixed reality, especially avoiding or mitigating comfort issues (motion sickness, proprioception discomfort etc).
